Proof

JABS Productions is proud to present Proof by David Auburn at the Cypress and Grove Brewing Company on April 13th and 14th. Proof centers on a profoundly gifted mathematician's daughter, grappling with his death, legacy, and her own tenuous mental health in the wake of his passing. The play explores themes of grief, alienation, family, and truth. Proof asks: Where is the line between genius and madness?

For this production, we partnered with the University of Florida’s mathematics department, of which 14 out of 60 faculty members are female-identifying, and with Girls Who Code, a not-for-profit devoted to bridging the gender gap in STEM. Together, we spread awareness of the possibilities and challenges for women in STEM. This partnership proposes that when theatre partners with groups of individuals experiencing a similar form of oppression to that of the story being told, we have a more globally empathetic society.
